Become a Founding Limited Partner (LP) and inspire Entrepreneurship

Good Neighbor Fund (GNF) is committed to enabling individuals from economically disadvantaged communities to forge a path towards a better life through entrepreneurship. We understand that not all individuals have equal access to opportunities, and that's the gap we aim to bridge. By becoming an LP with GNF, you can play a significant part in this transformative work.

What Does an LP at GNF Do?

As an LP at GNF, you join a grassroots movement that inspires and supports aspiring entrepreneurs, helping them take their first steps towards establishing their businesses. You pool your time, resources, and networks to make this mission a reality. The duties and commitments involved include:

  1. Quarterly Grant-Selections: LPs participate in team dinners every quarter where pitch applications are reviewed and micro-grant recipients are chosen.
  2. Review of Grant Applications: LPs spend approximately 1 hour per month reviewing grant applications and conducting interviews with micro-grant finalists.
  3. Optional Committees: There is an opportunity to join the Events Planning Committee or spearhead new committees within each Chapter.
  4. Monetary Commitment: LPs make a minimum upfront contribution of $500, which goes entirely towards our micro-grant program.
  5. LP Term: The term for an LP is one calendar year, with renewal commitments due the following year.
  6. Engagement: LPs are encouraged to participate actively in discussions, primarily through our Slack channel.

<aside> đź’ˇ While we refer to our members as "Limited Partners", it's important to understand that GNF is not a venture capital fund. Our model is centered around awarding cash grants that are completely free of any conditions. We expect no return on investment - we believe in the power of endorsement and the potential of those we support.

How Do You Select New LPs?

As we invite and welcome members of the community to join as LPs, we will be looking at a few factors:

<aside> 💡 This criteria is not all-inclusive and is not a science. You’ve probably heard the statistic that men apply for a role when they meet only 60% of the qualifications, but women apply only if they meet 100% of them. We encourage all that are interested to apply.
